How to use HoldingsHaven

Everything here is written in plain language. Start with the first fifteen minutes, then dip into the questions below whenever something comes up.

Your first fifteen minutes

1. Add your household and people

Open Family & household under People & pros. Add yourself, your spouse or co-owner, your children, and anyone who may step in later, such as a successor trustee or executor. If you like, add each person's jobs too, so family knows who to call at work. Set your country and currency under Settings → Household.

Adding someone does not email them. They only get an invitation when you invite them from Family & household → Shared access & invites.

2. Record what you own and what you owe

Begin with the big anchors: your home, your main bank accounts, retirement accounts, and vehicles. Then add mortgages, loans and cards, and the rest over time. Everyday choices are listed first; specialized ones such as trusts, companies and private deals sit below them.

Already have a spreadsheet? Use Import from a spreadsheet. Names that look alike are matched for you, and every imported record is tagged Needs review.

3. Link ownership, titling and beneficiaries

The fastest way is Quick assign under Tools & analysis: one screen to set owners and primary and backup beneficiaries across all your records. You can also open any record and use its People & succession tab to note whether it is held in your own name, jointly, or by a trust or company.

Anything without a backup beneficiary is flagged for you so you can follow up with the institution.

4. Look at your binder, reminders and protection checks

Open the Emergency binder from Protect & plan, or the button at the top of your Overview. It gathers your records, helpers, work contacts, insurance and instructions into one printable packet. Dates ahead lists renewals, deadlines, recurring fees and your own reminders. Reports shows protection checks and your yearly upkeep total.
